Merry Christmas!

I just want to wish all my students and parents a very Merry Christmas!

I was spoiled rotten today with cards and gifts….my bucket is overflowing! My family is going to be excited when they see all the yummy baking and chocolates I am bringing home today.

I hope that everyone has a restful and safe holiday season- and I’ll see you next year 🙂

Our first day back is January 5, 2015.

PS- Our class raised $136.56 for the WES See a Need-Fill a Need Campaign. What kind and generous children (and families) I have in my class this year. Thank you so very much!

RAK Week #3

For our final week of RAK here is what we did-

Dec. 15– Pick up trash. Don’t forget to wash your hands afterwards!

Dec. 16-Give someone in a different class a sticker (I gave them a smelly sticker to hand out at recess).

Dec. 17-Say “hello” to someone you don’t usually talk to.

Dec. 18– Make eye contact and SMILE! 🙂

Dec. 19– Help a friend clean up his/her area.

I am so proud of my class on doing this for the last 3 weeks. I have had many parents comment on how it has been carried over at home as well. Awesome job 2JT!

See a Need, Fill a Need

See a Need/Fill a Need

CHRISTMAS IS A TIME OF GIVING The Christmas holiday season is upon us!   With the season comes the thought of giving.  As we have done in past years, rather than participate in classroom gift exchanges we encourage our students to be involved in Warman Elementary School’s  See A Need, Fill A Need campaign to help others in need. The total amount of money collected will be divided between two wonderful and worthwhile organizations; World Vision to support children affected by Ebola and the Warman Food Bank
. Holiday forest
In years past, Warman Elementary has gone above and beyond in the giving department.  We would love to make a big difference in the lives of others this holiday season!  Donations are being collected in the classrooms beginningMonday, December 1st until Wednesday, December 17th. The Ebola disease crisis has brought much despair to African families. Many parents and their children have been affected by this disease and even if they haven’t been affected directly, many families have not been able to access regular health services due to the incredible amount of resources required to treat Ebola. Your generous gift is appreciated in any amount. Those requiring a receipt for a larger donation can donate online at: http://www.worldvision.ca/GIVE-A-GIFT/Pages/west-africa-relief-ebola.aspxWe thank you in advance for helping Warman Elementary School students experience the gift of giving to those less fortunate.

Christmas Concert- Thursday December 18th

Just a reminder that our Christmas concert for parents is on Thursday, December 18th.

There will be an afternoon show at 1:30pm and an evening show at 7:00pm.

We need all students to be at the school at 6:30pm on Thursday evening. Please meet in our classroom. We will be walking down to the gym as a class.

If for some reason you aren’t able to bring your child for the evening concert, please let me know ASAP.

Thanks!

Family Christmas Festival

What a busy week at Warman Elementary School!

The Family Christmas Festival is on Wednesday December 17 and will run from 7:00-8:15 pm ending with a fireworks display in the soccer field across from the school.

There will be crafts and activities set up in various classrooms throughout the school.

It is a wonderful way to spend an evening with your family- it is sure to put you in a holiday mood 🙂

Pokemon Cards

Due to problems with Pokemon cards at school. WES is requesting that all Pokemon cards be left at home. We do not want the students to bring them to school for sharing or trading. Please talk to me with any questions about this. Thanks for your support.

Christmas Concert 2014

We have been very busy practising for the Christmas concert. On Thursday and Friday we began practising in the gym and on the stage.

Just a reminder that we will be performing “Arf on the Rooftop” for parents on Thursday, December 18th. There will be an afternoon show beginning at 1:30 and an evening show at 7:00.

We are excited to perform for our families 🙂

RAK week #2

These are the RAKs that our class did this week;

December 8-Throw away someone elses trash in the classroom/home

December 9- Help a person carry something

December 10- Only let kind words come out of your mouth

December 11- Play with someone you don’t usually play with

December 12- Ask someone how you can help them today

Care Partner Fun

We met up with our Kindergarten Care Partners on Wednesday for a visit and to make a Christmas craft. The students coloured the decorations on a Christmas tree and then cut, folded and taped the tree to make it 3D. It was exciting to visit with our little buddies and help them make a craft. We were impressed with how well the Kindergarten students coloured and cut out their trees….the folding and taping was a little tricky!

We are hoping to get together one more time next week….and our little buddies are looking forward to watching our Christmas concert!
