Smiles- and last week info

I can’t believe that we are down to our last 3 days of second grade! We have had such a wonderful year together and I am so proud of how hard the children have worked and how much they have learned. On Friday when we wrote in our “Friday Journals” for the last time, I told them to look back to the first page and compare their printing and how much writing they had done, to what they can do know. They were all so proud of how neat their printing was, and how many more sentences they could write!

Here are our smiles for last week; πŸ™‚

June 28- Last day! We will be watching a movie in the afternoon. Students are able to bring a small treat to have while we watch the movie. Learning Journeys (Report cards) will also be coming home on this day.

Thanks again for all of the support and encouragement that you the parents have given to our class this year. I have enjoyed getting to know all of the children and parents this year and feel truly blessed to have had this class as my “last one” at WES.

Friday Smiles

It is June! I can hardly believe that we have made it to the last month of the year.

Here are our smiles for the week:

May 29– watching the caterpillars outside at recess (Sachi)- this is not a smile for me…eww!

May 30– playing grounders (Nevaeh)

May 31– watching the Sound of Music with Mrs. Tempel (Ana)

June 1– practicing running on the track (Porter)

June 2– reading the book Chalk during Reading Workshop (Jason)

There is no school on June 5.

Next week is going to be busy with track and field and pizza lunch on Wednesday, June 7. Cross your fingers that the weather is nice. Please remember to wear running shoes, no flip flops or sandals.

I will be away on June 9 and 16 taking some earned days off. My sub is Mrs. Lundsten and she is lovely. That means spelling tests and Friday smiles may not be posted until Mondays for the next couple of weeks.

Have a great weekend! πŸ™‚
