Merry Christmas!

We made it! This week had a lot of excitement in it, but I am happy to report that we have made it to the holidays!

We said goodbye to Ms. Nadeau today. 😥 She was such a good fit for our classroom and I know that it won’t feel the same without her when we return. She promises to keep in touch and come for a visit when her schedule allows.

Here is what made us smile this week in 2T:

Mon. Dec. 18- having a candy cane treat for clean classroom (Claire M)

Tues. Dec. 19- practicing the Christmas concert (Abbey)

Wed. Dec. 20- watching Rudolph (Tristan)

Thurs. Dec. 21- performing at the concert (George)

Fri. Dec. 22- playing on the iPads with Sutton (Haven)

I hope that everyone has a relaxing break spent with family and friends. Thanks so much for the lovely gifts, I was spoiled!

See you on January 8, 2018- Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁☃️

It is almost Christmas!

Excitement is in the air in 2T as we only have 5 more days of school until the holiday break!

Our concert is coming up on Thursday Dec. 21 with performances at 1:00 and 7:00 pm. I have had a few questions about what to wear- anything you wish is fine! Please have the children back at the school by 6:45. We will be meeting in the classroom.

2T will be having our lunch together on Wednesday Dec. 20. Thanks to the parents who will be providing the food for us. It is special for us to spend the time sharing the meal together and visiting.

Wear your Christmas clothing to school on Friday Dec. 22– which is our last day of school in 2017!

Here is what made us smile this week:

Mon. Dec. 11– playing cars in the gym (Lachlan)

Tues. Dec. 12– using all the different balls in the gym (Owen)

Wed. Dec. 13– going skating (Drew)

Thurs. Dec. 14– making silly Santas in art (Claire H.)

Fri. Dec. 15– singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at the assembly (Abbotte)

Next week is Ms. Nadeau’s last week with us. She has done an amazing job as an intern teacher and the students and I will miss her so much as she returns to her studies at the U of S. She has become an important part of our classroom community!

Christmas Concert Information

Dear TES Parents and Guardians,
We have all been busily preparing for our Christmas Concert Celebrations on Thursday, December 21st at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
This year, we are all very excited to perform together as a whole school and get to use our beautiful new gymnasium and stage!!
To ensure that each of our students’ families have an opportunity to see them perform, we would ask that, if at all possible, only parents and guardians attend the evening performance and that grandparents, aunts, uncles and other close family and friends are encouraged to attend our afternoon performance.

With the space and seating we have available, we want to ensure that all parents can attend the evening performance and have a seat to watch their child(ren). We recognize that although this may not be ideal for all families, and will revisit our options as we plan for the coming years. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.  We look forward to a great performance!

A Special Note From The SCC:
After our evening performance, students will be going back to their classrooms to gather their things.  After you pick you child up, please join us in the small gym for some hot chocolate (provided by the SCC) and a nice Christmas visit before the holidays!!
Each family is also encouraged to bring a small plate of baking (NUT FREE) to share as we gather and celebrate together.
Please drop your plate off in the small gym before the concert.   Thank you in advance for your contribution to our  “Christmas Cookie Potluck”  😊

Snowglobes

This afternoon we helped our care partners in Kindergarten make snow globes. We also got to make our own snow globes. They are drying and we will bring them home on Monday! ❄️☃️

Friday Smiles

It has been another busy week in 2T.

We started our Gingerbread Man book study in Reading Workshop. Ask your child which book has been their favorite so far? My favorite book is still to come. 🙂

In math we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have also learned a fancy word for corners. Next week we will learn about 3D shapes.

We had some grade 8 students from WCMS  visit us to share books that they had made in French. We were excited to learn some French words.

Today we attended a Fur Trappers presentation with 2M. They had so many cool furs.

Here is what made us smile at school this week:

Mon. Dec. 4– having our party in music (Avery M.)

Tues. Dec. 5– doing a secret reindeer picture in art (Avery B.)

Wed. Dec. 6– the gr. 8 kids coming to read to us (Claire M.)

Thurs. Dec. 7– making flowers with Mrs. Wolfe (Drew)

Fri. Dec. 8– running races in the gym (Zackary)

It’s  hard to believe that there are only 10 school days left until the Christmas break!

Please remember that we are going skating on Wednesday afternoon, students will need skates and an appropriate helmet to participate.

We are in the crazy and busy month of December. It is hard to believe that there are only 15 school days until the holiday break!
