Friday Smiles

What a beautiful week, I think that we saw the sun almost every day this week. I only wish that it wasn’t so windy!

Here is what made us smile in 2T this week:

Mon. Apr. 23– reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Ellie)

Tues. Apr. 24– doing music and movement in gym (Hennessey)

Wed. Apr.. 25– jumping off the swings with Tristan (Grady)

Thurs. Apr. 26– doing stations in the gym (Everett)

Fri. Apr. 27– going to the assembly (Rylie)

We will be finishing the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next week. As a treat, we are going to watch the movie. It is a longer movie so we will watch part of it on Thursday, and the rest on Friday. I told the kids that they could bring a treat to have on Friday afternoon while they watch.

Enjoy your weekend!

Friday Smiles

I have the biggest smile of all today because it looks like Spring has finally arrived at TES! 🙂

There are some puddles around the school yard so please make sure that your child is wearing appropriate footwear, and it is a good idea to stick a pair of extra socks into their backpack.

Here is what made us smile in 2T this week:

Mon. Apr. 16– doing origami at the end of the day (Haven)

Tues. Apr. 17– stations in gym (Tristan)

Wed. Apr. 18– free time at the end of the day (Avery M.)

Thurs. Apr. 19– playing on the swings at recess (Lachlan)

Fri. Apr. 20– swinging outside (Zackary)

We have been busy working on some Earth Day Writing which will be our writing sample to share for April. It will be coming home in the red Learning Journey Duo-tangs early next week.

In Math we are learning my favourite strategy for adding 2-digit numbers. I will be posting a video on Fresh Grade soon explaining the strategy to parents and showing you how we use it. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.

Get outside and enjoy the weather this weekend!

Friday Smiles

Even though the weather is not helping to make me smile, we did have a great first week back to school. Routine is good for all of us.

Here is what made us smile in 2T

Mon. Apr. 9– using the hula hoops in gym (Abbotte)

Tues. Apr. 10– making flowers in art (Avery M.)

Wed. Apr. 11– painting (Owen)

Thurs. Apr. 12– learning about animals in science (Everett)

Fri. Apr. 13– playing outside at recess with Abbey and Claire H. (Claire M.)

Next week we are celebrating Earth Week at TES. Check back a blog post or two to see what special activities we will be doing each day.

Visit from the Mayor

We were lucky to have Mayor Spence come to visit the grade 2 classes this afternoon to talk about her job as mayor of Warman. She brought along the youth ambassador Emily( who was a kindergarten student of mine many years ago) and Brittany an employee from City Hall.

Mayor Spence let the students ask her questions about her job and she told us about the council and some of the bylaws we have in Warman. Mayor Spence joined the council in 2000, and she has been the mayor for 13 years. She explained that part of the mayor’s job is to be like a cheerleader for our city.

Ask your child if they remember the bylaws about chickens and bees. 🐓🐝

Thanks for coming to talk to us Mayor Spence!
